🐦 X / Twitter Feeds
X / Twitter feeds mirror an X account into your server: whenever the account posts, the agent shares the tweet in a channel you choose. Each feed can also run an automatic engagement campaign that awards XP to members who like, comment on, or retweet the post.
Overview
When configured, the agent can:
- Post every new tweet from a subscribed X account to a Discord channel
- Optionally include the account's retweets and quote tweets
- Customize the post title with variables like the account name and tweet URL
- Run an Auto-scale engagement campaign per tweet, awarding XP for likes, comments, and retweets
Configuration
To configure X / Twitter feeds:
- Open your project in the Fren One webapp.
- Select the Discord server you want to configure.
- In the sidebar under Agent Configuration, select Messages, then the X / Twitter tab.
- Select Add Feed to open the editor.
The list shows each feed as "@username" with its channel, plus Auto-scale and Disabled pills where they apply.
Feed settings
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| X Username | The account to subscribe to. Required — and only editable when creating the feed; it's locked afterward. To follow a different account, create a new feed. |
| Channel | Where new tweets are posted. Required. |
| Post title override | Optional custom title for each post. Up to 500 characters; supports the variables below. |
| Include retweets & quotes | Also posts the account's retweets and quote tweets. |
| @mention everyone | Mentions @everyone on each new tweet post. |
| Enabled | Whether the feed is active. Default: on. |
Post title variables
| Variable | Inserts |
|---|---|
{username} | The account's username. |
{handle} | The account's handle. |
{name} | The account's display name. |
{url} | The tweet's URL. |
Auto-scale engagement
Toggle "Auto-scale engagement" on to run an engagement campaign for each new tweet, awarding XP to members who interact with it.
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Engagement actions & XP | Check at least one of Like, Comment, Retweet, and set the XP each awards. 0–10,000 per action; defaults: Like 5, Comment 10, Retweet 8. |
| Scale duration (hours) | How long each campaign awards XP. 1–720 hours; default 24. |
Auto-scale runs for every new tweet from the account. For a one-off campaign around a single tweet, use a tweet-scaling quest in Gamification → Quests instead.
How it works in Discord
When the subscribed account posts, the agent shares the tweet in the configured channel — with your Post title override as the title if you set one, and an @everyone mention if enabled. With Auto-scale engagement on, each new tweet also starts an XP campaign that runs for the configured duration, rewarding members who like, comment, or retweet. Members link their X accounts on FrenMee so their engagement can be attributed.
@mention everyone pings your entire server for every tweet the feed posts — and with Include retweets & quotes on, that includes retweets. For active accounts this gets noisy fast; leave it off unless the account posts rarely and every post matters.
Saving your changes
Edits are staged: new feeds, changes, and deletions stay local until you select Save in the bar at the bottom of the page. Deleting a feed marks it as pending with an undo option until you save; leaving the page with unsaved changes shows a warning.
Best practices
- Point feeds at an announcements-style channel so tweets don't interrupt conversation.
- Use a Post title override like
New post from {name} — {url}to make feed posts recognizable. - Weight Comment XP above Like XP (the defaults already do) — comments are the engagement you actually want.
- Keep Scale duration near the 24-hour default; engagement on a tweet older than a day rarely needs rewarding.
Troubleshooting
Tweets aren't showing up?
- Check the feed's Enabled toggle and that the page is saved.
- Retweets and quote tweets are only posted when Include retweets & quotes is on.
- Confirm the agent can post in the target channel.
I need to change the account a feed follows?
- The X Username is locked after creation — delete the feed and create a new one with the right account.
