👨‍🎓 Quizzes

Create engaging quizzes for group members. The Quizzes feature in Fren One allows community managers to create, manage, and schedule interactive quizzes for members. Quizzes are a fun and engaging way to test knowledge, reward participants, and encourage interaction within your Telegram group.

Configuration​

To access Quizzes settings:

  1. Use the /settings command in your chat
  2. Navigate to 🏆 Gamification → 👨‍🎓 Quizzes
  3. Create and manage quizzes

Main menu displays:

➕ Create Quiz: Start creating a new quiz and configure its settings.
🤖 Generate from KB: Automatically generate a quiz from your AI knowledge base.
⚙️ Quiz Settings: Access and modify the general settings for quizzes in this group.
🌐 Manage in Mini App: Open the full quiz manager in the Fren One Mini App.

Creating Quizzes​

Admins can easily create custom quizzes with multiple-choice questions.

Create Quiz Process​

Steps:

  1. Click ➕ Create Quiz or 🌐 Manage in Mini App
  2. Follow the step-by-step process

Set Quiz Title​

Define the quiz name that members will see.

Steps:

  1. Click 📝 Set Title
  2. Send your title (e.g., "Math", "Crypto Knowledge", "Community Trivia")
  3. Title is saved

Add Questions​

Add multiple-choice questions with correct answers.

Steps:

  1. Click ❓ Add Questions
  2. The bot prompts: 
    ❓ Add Questions:
    Send questions in the format:
    Question | Option1 | Option2 | Option3 | CorrectOption

    Type done when finished adding questions.
  3. Send questions in the specified format
  4. Continue adding questions
  5. Type done when finished

Question Format:

Question | Option1 | Option2 | Option3 | CorrectOption

Examples:

What is Bitcoin's ticker symbol? | BTC | ETH | BNB | BTC
What's our group language? | English | Spanish | Any | English
Who created Bitcoin? | Vitalik | Satoshi | CZ | Satoshi
Question Requirements
  • Minimum 3 options per question
  • One option must be marked as correct
  • All options must be unique
  • Question text should be clear and unambiguous

Editing Questions:

Once questions are added, you can edit them:

  1. Select question number from list
  2. Click ✏️ Edit Question
  3. Bot shows current question: 
    Current Question: What is 8 x 6?

    Please send the updated question in this format:
    Question | Option1 | Option2 | Option3 | CorrectOption
  4. Send updated question in format
  5. Question is updated

Adding More Questions:

After initial questions, you can add more:

  1. Click ➕ Add Question
  2. Send new question in format
  3. Question is added to quiz

Schedule Quiz (Optional)​

Plan when the quiz will be posted in the chat.

Steps:

  1. Click 📅 Schedule Quiz
  2. Set date and time for quiz release
  3. Quiz will automatically post at scheduled time

Save Quiz​

  1. After setting title and adding questions
  2. Click 💾 Save
  3. Quiz is saved and ready to use

After saving:

  • Quiz appears in Manage Quizzes list
  • Can be sent immediately or scheduled
  • Can be edited or deleted
  • Can be previewed

Managing Quizzes​

From the 📋 Manage Quizzes menu, admins can view and control all quizzes.

View All Quizzes​

Click on a quiz name to view details.

Settings available:

  • Mode (Group or DM)
  • Mute Group option
  • Time Limit
  • XP Rewards per correct answer

Mode​

Choose where quizzes are conducted.

Group Mode:

  • Quiz displayed in the group chat
  • Answers visible to all members
  • Public participation
  • Social element
  • Can be distracting

DM Mode:

  • Users prompted to DM the bot
  • Quiz sent privately
  • Answers private
  • Focused participation
  • Cleaner group chat

Steps to set:

  1. Select mode in Quiz Settings
  2. Toggle between Group and DM
  3. Mode applies to all future quizzes
Recommended Mode

DM mode is recommended for most communities. It keeps the main chat clean while allowing focused quiz participation. Use Group mode for quick, social quizzes.

Mute Group​

Option to mute the group chat while quiz is live.

Purpose:

  • Prevents disruption during quiz
  • Ensures members focus on quiz
  • Reduces confusion
  • Maintains order

Options:

  • Enabled: Group is muted during quiz
  • Disabled: Group remains unmuted

When enabled:

  • Quiz announcement posts
  • Group is muted
  • Only quiz interactions allowed
  • Group unmutes after quiz time expires

Time Limit​

Set the duration users have to complete the quiz.

Configuration:

  • Enter time in minutes
  • Applies to all quizzes
  • Timer starts when member begins quiz

Common time limits:

  • 1-2 minutes: Very short, quick quizzes
  • 5 minutes: Standard (shown in screenshots)
  • 10 minutes: Longer quizzes with many questions
  • 15-30 minutes: Comprehensive knowledge tests

Displayed as:

⏱️ Time limit: 5 minutes!

What happens when time expires:

  • Quiz automatically submits
  • Correct answers up to that point count
  • Unanswered questions marked incorrect
  • Member notified of results

XP Rewards​

Assign XP points for each correct answer in the quiz.

Configuration:

  • Set XP per correct answer
  • All correct answers earn same amount
  • Adds to member's total XP
  • Contributes to leveling

Example:

  • Quiz with 5 questions
  • 10 XP per correct answer
  • Member answers 4 correctly
  • Earns 40 XP total
Troubleshooting

Quiz not posting?

  • Verify bot has posting permissions
  • Check quiz is properly saved
  • Ensure quiz is activated
  • Test with different quiz

Members can't access quiz?

  • In DM mode, ensure they DM the bot
  • Check bot accepts private messages
  • Verify quiz is active
  • Confirm time limit hasn't expired

Questions not displaying correctly?

  • Review question format
  • Check for special characters
  • Verify options are unique
  • Preview before sending

XP not being awarded?

  • Verify XP rewards are set in settings
  • Check XP system is enabled
  • Ensure answers are correct
  • Confirm quiz completed within time limit

Can't edit quiz?

  • Check if quiz is currently active
  • Deactivate quiz first
  • Ensure you have permissions
  • Try refreshing

Schedule not working?

  • Verify date/time format is correct
  • Check timezone settings
  • Ensure quiz is saved
  • Test with immediate send first
