Create engaging quizzes for group members. The Quizzes feature in Fren One allows community managers to create, manage, and schedule interactive quizzes for members. Quizzes are a fun and engaging way to test knowledge, reward participants, and encourage interaction within your Telegram group.

Quizzes provide:

Learning and Fun

Quizzes combine education with gamification, making learning enjoyable while rewarding participation with XP and recognition.

Configuration​

To access Quizzes settings:

  1. Use the /settings command in your chat
  2. Navigate to 🏆 Gamification → 👨‍🎓 Quizzes
  3. Create and manage quizzes

Main menu displays:

📋 Manage Quizzes: View, edit, and manage all quizzes created for this group.
➕ Create Quiz: Start creating a new quiz and configure its settings.
⚙️ Quiz Settings: Access and modify the general settings for quizzes in this group.

Creating Quizzes​

Admins can easily create custom quizzes with multiple-choice questions.

Create Quiz Process​

Steps:

  1. Click ➕ Create Quiz
  2. Follow the step-by-step process

Set Quiz Title​

Define the quiz name that members will see.

Steps:

  1. Click 📝 Set Title
  2. The bot prompts:

    Send the title of the quiz.
  3. Send your title (e.g., "Math", "Crypto Knowledge", "Community Trivia")
  4. Title is saved

Clear Titles

Use descriptive titles that indicate the quiz topic. This helps members know what to expect and encourages participation.

Add Questions​

Add multiple-choice questions with correct answers.

Steps:

  1. Click ❓ Add Questions
  2. The bot prompts:

    Type done when finished adding questions.
  3. Send questions in the specified format

Question Requirements
  • Minimum 3 options per question
  • One option must be marked as correct
  • All options must be unique
  • Question text should be clear and unambiguous

Editing Questions:

Once questions are added, you can edit them:

  1. Select question number from list
  2. Click ✏️ Edit Question
  3. Bot shows current question: 
    Current Question: What is 8 x 6?

    Please send the updated question in this format:

Adding More Questions:

After initial questions, you can add more:

  1. Click ➕ Add Question
  2. Send new question in format
  3. Question is added to quiz

Schedule Quiz (Optional)​

Plan when the quiz will be posted in the chat.

Steps:

  1. Click 📅 Schedule Quiz
  2. Set date and time for quiz release
  3. Quiz will automatically post at scheduled time

Benefits of scheduling:

  • Plan content in advance
  • Time for maximum participation
  • Regular quiz events (weekly, monthly)
  • Coordinate with other content

Optimal Timing

Schedule quizzes during peak activity times for maximum participation. Regular schedules (e.g., "Friday Quiz") build anticipation.

Save Quiz​

Steps:

  1. After setting title and adding questions
  2. Click 💾 Save
  3. Quiz is saved and ready to use

After saving:

  • Quiz appears in Manage Quizzes list
  • Can be sent immediately or scheduled
  • Can be edited or deleted
  • Can be previewed

From the 📋 Manage Quizzes menu, admins can view and control all quizzes.

Edit Quiz​

Modify quiz content:

Steps:

  1. Select quiz from list
  2. Click ✏️ Edit
  3. Choose what to edit:
    • Quiz title
    • Specific questions
    • Add new questions
  4. Make changes
  5. Save updates

Schedule/Reschedule Quiz​

Set or change the quiz schedule:

Steps:

  1. Select quiz from list
  2. Click 📅 Schedule Quiz
  3. Set date and time
  4. Quiz updates with new schedule

When quiz is active:

  • Button shows ⏸️ Deactivate Quiz
  • Stops quiz from being available
  • Members can no longer participate

When quiz is inactive:

  • Button shows 📅 Schedule Quiz
  • Can be scheduled or activated

Delete Quiz​

Permanently remove a quiz:

Steps:

  1. Select quiz from list
  2. Click 🗑️ Delete
  3. Confirm deletion
  4. Quiz is removed
Permanent Deletion

Deleting a quiz removes it completely, including all questions and scores. This cannot be undone.

Quiz Settings​

Customize quiz behavior with global settings.

Accessing Quiz Settings​

  1. From Quizzes menu, click ⚙️ Quiz Settings
  2. Configure options

Settings available:

  • Mode (Group or DM)
  • Mute Group option
  • Time Limit
  • XP Rewards per correct answer

Mode​

Choose where quizzes are conducted.

Group Mode:

  • Quiz displayed in the group chat
  • Answers visible to all members
  • Public participation
  • Social element
  • Can be distracting

DM Mode:

  • Users prompted to DM the bot
  • Quiz sent privately
  • Answers private
  • Focused participation
  • Cleaner group chat

Steps to set:

  1. Select mode in Quiz Settings
  2. Toggle between Group and DM
  3. Mode applies to all future quizzes
Recommended Mode

DM mode is recommended for most communities. It keeps the main chat clean while allowing focused quiz participation. Use Group mode for quick, social quizzes.

Mute Group​

Option to mute the group chat while quiz is live.

Purpose:

  • Prevents disruption during quiz
  • Ensures members focus on quiz
  • Reduces confusion
  • Maintains order

Options:

  • Enabled: Group is muted during quiz
  • Disabled: Group remains unmuted

When enabled:

  • Quiz announcement posts
  • Group is muted
  • Only quiz interactions allowed
  • Group unmutes after quiz time expires
Use Carefully

Muting the group can frustrate members if unexpected. Communicate this setting clearly and use for important quizzes only.

Time Limit​

Set the duration users have to complete the quiz.

Configuration:

  • Enter time in minutes
  • Applies to all quizzes
  • Timer starts when member begins quiz

Common time limits:

  • 1-2 minutes: Very short, quick quizzes
  • 5 minutes: Standard (shown in screenshots)
  • 10 minutes: Longer quizzes with many questions
  • 15-30 minutes: Comprehensive knowledge tests

Displayed as:

⏱️ Time limit: 5 minutes!

What happens when time expires:

  • Quiz automatically submits
  • Correct answers up to that point count
  • Unanswered questions marked incorrect
  • Member notified of results
Fair Timing

Set time limits based on question count and difficulty. Allow roughly 30-60 seconds per question for comfortable completion.

XP Rewards​

Assign XP points for each correct answer in the quiz.

Configuration:

  • Set XP per correct answer
  • All correct answers earn same amount
  • Adds to member's total XP
  • Contributes to leveling

Example:

  • Quiz with 5 questions
  • 10 XP per correct answer
  • Member answers 4 correctly
  • Earns 40 XP total

Strategic XP amounts:

  • 1-5 XP: Small bonus
  • 10-20 XP: Standard reward (recommended)
  • 25-50 XP: Significant incentive
  • 100+ XP: Major quiz event
XP Balance

Balance quiz XP with message XP. A 5-question quiz shouldn't give more XP than an hour of active participation. Typical: 10 XP per correct answer.

Scenario: Learning-focused group testing knowledge.

  • Mode: DM
  • Weekly scheduled quizzes
  • 10 questions per quiz
  • 10 minutes time limit

Scenario: Test member knowledge about project and crypto.

  • Mode: DM

  • 20 XP per correct answer
  • Topics: Project features, tokenomics, crypto basics

Fun Trivia​

Scenario: Entertainment and engagement.

Configuration:

  • Mode: Group (quick social quiz)
  • Ad-hoc (no schedule)
  • 3-5 questions
  • 3 minutes time limit
  • 10 XP per correct answer
  • Topics: Pop culture, memes, random trivia

Result: Fun breaks, social interaction, light competition.

Onboarding Quiz​

Scenario: New member verification of rule understanding.

Configuration:

  • Mode: DM
  • Triggered on join (via other features)
  • 5 questions about community rules
  • 5 minutes time limit
  • 25 XP per correct answer (high reward for completion)
  • Pass requirement for full access

Troubleshooting​

Quiz not posting?

  • Verify bot has posting permissions
  • Check quiz is properly saved

Members can't access quiz?

  • In DM mode, ensure they DM the bot
  • Check bot accepts private messages
  • Verify quiz is active
  • Confirm time limit hasn't expired

XP not being awarded?
