Get Fren One up and running in your Telegram community in under 5 minutes!

🚀 Quick Setup

Important Notes
  • The bot needs admin privileges to function properly
  • Some features require a brief setup period to learn your community
  • Always test new features in a smaller group first

Step 1: Add the Bot

  1. Open Telegram and search for @FrenOneBot
  2. Start a chat with the bot by clicking "Start"
  3. Add to your group by clicking "Add to Group"

Step 2: Grant Admin Permissions

For Fren One to work properly, it needs admin privileges:

  1. Go to your group settings → "Administrators"
  2. Add @FrenOneBot as an administrator
  3. Enable these permissions:
    • ✅ Delete messages
    • ✅ Ban users
    • ✅ Invite users
    • ✅ Pin messages
    • ✅ Manage video chats (optional)

Step 3: Configure Basic Settings

  1. Type /settings in your group chat
  2. You'll see many options - don't worry, you only need to configure a few basic ones to get started:

Essential Settings to Configure First:

  • 👋 Onboarding → Enable welcome messages and captcha
  • 🛡️ Moderation → Set up basic filters and warnings
  • 🤖 AI → Enable AI spam protection
  • ⚙️ Chat Settings → Set your language

🎯 Essential First Steps

1. Welcome New Members

Set up automated welcome messages to greet new joiners:

  • Navigate to OnboardingWelcome Message
  • Toggle 🟢 Enabled, click Message, then send your customized greeting message
  • Use variables like {user} and {chat} for personalization

2. Enable Spam Protection

Activate AI-powered spam detection:

  • Go to AISpam Detection
  • Toggle 🟢 Enabled for automatic spam removal for "New Users". Note that the definition of a "New User" can be adjusted under Chat SettingsNew User Definition.
  • Adjust the Actions based on your community needs

3. Set Up Captcha

Protect against bots with verification:

  • Navigate to OnboardingCaptcha
  • Choose a Captcha Type
  • Set the Time Limit duration for verification
  • Toggle 🟢 Enabled to begin captcha verification

Onboarding Security

  • User Blacklist: Navigate to 👋 OnboardingUser Blacklist to block known troublemakers

Moderation Security

  • Word Blacklist: Go to 🛡️ ModerationWord Blacklist to add spam words and inappropriate terms
  • Triggers: Set up 🛡️ ModerationTriggers for automated responses to defined commands
  • Report System: Enable 🛡️ ModerationReport System for community reporting

🎮 Gamification Quick Start

Make your community more engaging:

1. Enable XP System:

  • Go to GamificationXP
  • Toggle 🟢 ON to start tracking member activity
  • Set XP rewards for messages, reactions, and participation

2. Create Roles:

  • Navigate to GamificationRoles
  • Set up progression tiers (Newcomer → Regular → Veteran)
  • Define XP requirements for each role

3. Add Leaderboard:

  • Enable Leaderboard to show top contributors
  • Encourage friendly competition and engagement
